I often debate in various groups about Islam from a social perspective. Usually in groups run by Muslims I always get kicked out when the slightest bit of criticism is said to be an ‘insult.’ Many of these Islamic groups I debate in say they uphold freedom of speech and intellectual discussion, but the sub- text is (only if you agree with me).
The latest group I was brought into was Sincere Intellectual Discussions. I am not here to whine how I was kicked out, I simply don’t care. I am merely using this group as an example. I don’t think it was actually my view of their religion that upset them, but was rather my Facebook profile picture of the Kaaba with the Israeli flag on it. I think that probably started the hostility, but I suppose I had it coming.
I made a few posts, but one in particular had the admin in a raving mad fit accusing me of insulting Muslim beliefs as well as being a lowlife scumbag (in the same comment he accuses me of personal insults when he does it himself – ah the irony). Basically I had said I think Allah is a narcissistic egotistical mind fucking manic. I didn’t word it that crudely, but that was my argument in a nutshell and I gave reasons why. I believed Allah was very self-centered and gained followers playing psychological cognitive games.
I was met with an angry reply by the admin being accused of insulting Muslims, people there personally and other irrelevant things. I was said to be hateful and angry and to engage in ‘filthy’ talk. I personally think the admin should join debate Islam and see what sort of ‘filthy talk’ his brothers in Islam are saying. While this has happened to me in various groups, this is just another example of Muslim inability to take criticism or difference of opinion. I went straight to the point and explained that criticism is not hateful anger or personally insulting and that I have not personally insulted anyone in the group.
He continued to be repetitive of course, but we moved away from it and I continued debating and posting some comments on some other issues. Then one of the other critical debaters took a snap shot of the admin justifying infant killing in God’s holy divine plans because the infants would go to heaven. I remarked that then he should kill his baby daughter in his Facebook profile pic to save her from hellfire because as an infant, according to Islam, she is guaranteed heaven.
He started personally insulting the other critical debater for the snapshot calling him an idiot and some other crude things (yet complaining others insulted him when they didn’t) and banned me. When asked why I was banned by friends, he deleted the comments not wanting people to know about this breach of his own group rules and his own hypocrisy.
It’s just one of the many examples of religious inability to stand firm in the face of different opinions. Those that claim to uphold freedom of speech and intellectual debate will often turn hypocrite contrary to what they preach and make false accusations, take analogies and opinions out of their context and eventually ban the individual and try to cover it up. Like I said this is not the only group where this has happened. Personally I still think the hostility came from my Facebook picture, but even then the picture itself was testing the Muslim ability to take criticism.

Been there, done that, have the T-shirt… and for the record, anybody who likes Thomas Paine gains numerous bonus points with me. FYI I think my record so far is my membership of a creationist FB group… 20 minutes, then tossed out because I committed the hideous crime of spelling god with a lower case "G".
Groups that might amuse you include ATHEISM DEBUNKED BY MUSLIMEEN… they have a rule against logic and reason. Best argument on offer is first cause, "I have no clue, so obviously Allah did it". About 1,300 members, but several complete lunatics posting the most crazy stuff you have ever seen… and all the usual stuff as well, miracles in quran, evolution is a myth yada-yada-yada.
There is also ATHEISM DEBUNKED BY UNITED MUSLIM UMMAH! there the Muslim admin tossed in the towel and became an atheist, so the only admins now are atheists. About 57,000 members, and a regular supply of nutters popping up to post the usual daft claims.
Yes I have been in the Muslimeen group and was banned after twenty minutes (this was while I was Muslim) because I took that rule about logic and reasoning, gave the definitions of them and explained from an Islamic and critical POV why reasoning and logic governs everythingwe do. Usman Taidi who is now suffering delusions of Islamic grandeur (He has been posting pictures of futuristic structures showing how smart Muslims are even though these structures don't exist) was very angry having a sister in Islam traduce him and like the group mentioned in the blog, accused me of insulting Islam and Muslims and thus I as banned. He then tried to cover it up, but enough people saw it. I am in all the other groups and am happily debating there. At least atheists know the term 'freedom of speech.' However this online silencing is just an example of what they would do to people like us if they had the power and the sharia Law in their hands.
I don't even keep track any more of the number of Muslims forums I have been banned from. Initially I felt really bad and asked myself what I could have done better. Now, I just chuckle. I was banned today from a forum where I mainly asked questions. But still, a Muslim came in and started throwing political propaganda out and changed a harmless and amicable discussion into a hatred flinging competition. He accused me of hating Muslims, referring to my very mild YouTube channel and never came up with any factual arguments.
It seems Muslims in general love their whining, self pity and sudden outbreak of violence to handle this world today.
Yes I don't actually care about getting banned. i find it amusing really and it only proves religion and religious followers are wilfully dishonest. I have seen your youtube channel and you offer criticism and debate in a polite manner so there is no need for them to take offense. I remember that crazy Muslim BeholderGuard was ranting about you all over the place-him like Usman Taidi in the Muslimmeen group also suffer from psychotic delusions thinking his online channel is some sort of Islamic Defense Battleground.
Raheel Hassan I like you as a person but friend you are poor communicator. You can not call your audience stupid and then expect them to listen to you. Some of us grow up to become grand father but never learn the basic skills.
You haven't understood me until now friend. Humanity is above any religion. there is just one religion in my understanding and you can call it anything you want to. You fit as a great human being caring for the people and good heart but wrong attitude toward your creator.Stop using bad words when you criticize. Why can't you use good world when you differ from the people? English slang don't work with DESI's. I know you know a lot but think about it.
You could have discuss this with me when you were in new york but… It is a big undertaking. It is hard to change people. If it was easy then I will change you. we can always affect each others behavior somewhat but a big change needs education of masses or needs a Rasul from God that will never come again.Ghamidi sb posses great knowledge of Islam and is a brilliant debater. we are starting a TV channel . Danish channel will be an internet channel but we are looking at bigger possibilities.I can't talk about that at this stage.
It is 4th of July and I am getting ready for BBQ.
Nothing gets through to these people – rather like continually banging your head against a wall – not a likeable experience. However we must keep applying the pressure until a glimmer of light gets into those dark places. We have to remember that these people are brainwashed from early childhood – never allowed to step outside the square and explore this wonderful world for themselves.
You broke the cardinal rule you did not acknowledge islam’s superiority over mankind, you did not dhimmify yourself— you represent everything that islam hates……you express yourself intelligently, you can think, and you are free something haram in islam– Never forget according to alla you are the vilest of creatures doomed to hellfire etc etc — when you look at what these barbarians are doing throughout the world with their narcissistic blather and barbarous deeds, a cognizant being could form no other (factual) opinion
My favourite quote
“Should I respect another’s belief that I am a kafir, an unbeliever, and
therefore fair game for abuse? And if someone is following Allah’s teaching that Muslims are the best of people and nonbelievers are the worst of people, will that person really respect my beliefs if I respect his? And what good would it do if he did? So I respect his belief that I am an unworthy
human being, and he respects my belief that we should all live and let live? What has my offering of respect done for either of us?”
